Background
Rise Asset Development is a collaboration between the Rotman School of Management and the Center of Addictions and Mental Health providing microfinance and mentorship to entrepreneurs with mental health and addiction challenges. Rotman and CAMH participate in advisory functions of Rise program delivery, lending their respective expertise in business mentorship, consulting and mental health support and services to the benefit of Rise clients.

Rise Asset Development works to empower business owners with access to capital and business support. Rise is committed to improving the lives of people who are unable to secure employment due to mental health or addictions problems. We aim to improve the health of individuals, while recognizing the interdependency of financial well-being to one’s overall quality of life. Rise targets a population with untapped potential.

Position Description
Rise is a small and energetic team. The Loan officer/Office Administrator will be responsible for assisting the Loan Coordinator in growing the loan portfolio in addition to supporting the team through general office administration. To succeed in this role, Loan officer/Office Administrator will also have experience in local issues of entrepreneurship, poverty and/or experience with small businesses.

Duties
• Assist Loan Coordinator with client management (intake to monitoring)
• Provide administrative support to team
• Coordination of workflow and schedules
• Booking meetings and managing community relationships
• Assist in the development of relationships with community partners and help maintain a degree of visibility for Rise in the Mental Health and Addictions community
• Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications
Minimum 1-3 years business experience; understanding of small business operations;
Undergraduate studies, preferably in business or economics;
Training in mental health and addictions; an asset
Knowledge of SME market;
Excellent computer skills including MS Office, Social Media, etc;
Tact, diplomacy, maturity and sound judgment; ability to organize and prioritize tasks;
Excellent communication (both written and oral) and interpersonal skills, including listening, facilitating, and presentation delivery;
Demonstrated commitment to working as a team player;
Flexible with the ability to multi-task;
Passion for Rise’s mission;
Ability to work independently; self-motivated
Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, be proactive, reliably detail oriented and customer service oriented
